COLLEGIATE ROCKET LEAGUE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HEADED TO TEXAS!

With Autumn in full swing, Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) is already looking to book an early winter break with the first-ever LIVE CRL National Championship, from the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas on December 8!

Not only does this National Championship mark the first-ever live event for CRL, but it's also the first-ever official Rocket League event to make its way to the Lone Star State; home to some of our most passionate fans and community groups (which means we hope to see you there, TexasRL)! The Psyonix Esports team and our partners at Tespa (who were founded in Texas) are definitely excited to see what North Texas brings to the National Championship and we hope to see you there!

THE CRL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The National Championship will be a one-day event where students from the four best Regional Conference teams in North America contend for their share of the $25,000 scholarship prize pool, out of this season’s total $75,000 prize pool, in a double-elimination bracket. In addition to having the best collegiate athletes competing live on stage, we will also have a freeplay area with 30 stations for Rocket League fans to play with their friends. Plus, be on the lookout for Tespa student booths, merchandise, and more!

Tickets will go on sale in the weeks to come, so expect more updates soon from the @RLEsports Twitter! Also, don’t miss out on the last three weeks of CRL Conference Play each Monday and Tuesday LIVE on twitch.tv/rocketleague at 6:00 PM CDT/ 4:00 PM PDT/ 11:00 PM UTC

HAUNTED HALLOWS RETURNS OCTOBER 15

As All Hallows' Eve creeps ever closer, it’s time for the spirits of Haunted Hallows to rise from the grave once again!

Starting October 15, earn ‘Candy Corn’ for playing and completing Online Matches, which can be redeemed for brand new ‘Limited’ Decals, Toppers, Wheels and more! There’s also the ‘Golden Pumpkin,’ which contains one Customization Item from the Nitro, Turbo or Player’s Choice Crates! Remember, once you redeem your Candy Corn for a Golden Pumpkin, no Key or Decryptor is required to open it.

When Haunted Hallows ends on November 5, you’ll have an additional three days to redeem any Candy Corn you have left in your pumpkin bucket -- or do you keep your candy in a pillowcase?

SARPBC’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY AND DOUBLE XP WEEKEND

Ten years ago today, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars was released on PlayStation 3! Little did we know then, that our passion-project Soccar game would lead to something much, much bigger in the years that followed! “Project Battle-Cars 2” turned into Rocket League and, more than three years after its release, it's still as fun and competitive as ever. Meanwhile, some of our most passionate SARPBCplayers have since transformed into heralded pros in the Rocket League Championship Series.

More than 50 million players and four platforms later, we can’t thank our community enough for helping make Rocket League what it is today; none of which would be possible without SARPBC’s debut in 2008. To celebrate, we'll be holding our first-ever Double XP Weekend!

Starting Thursday, October 11 at 4:00 PM PDT (11:00 pm UTC), base XP that's earned in Online Matches will double via a "+100% Special Event” multiplier we’ve been saving for a special occasion. All additional bonuses and multipliers will be operating normally. Check out the start-and-finish times listed below, along with a look back at our original SARPBC trailer.

We hope you enjoy the additional XP as you progress through Rocket Pass, and for all the SARPBC players out there, share some of your favorite moments, stories, and pics with us on Twitter, Instagram and Reddit and we'll share some of our favorites!

P.S.: Do you have a PS3 ready to go? You can still purchase and play SARPBC on the PlayStation Store! Find out where Soccar began, complete with online play and the original versions of some of your favorite Rocket League Battle-Cars!

  • Double XP Start: Thursday, October 11 at 4:00 PM PDT (11:00 PM UTC)
  • Double XP End: Monday, October 15 at 10:00 AM PDT (5:00 PM UTC)

ROCKET PASS LAUNCHES ON SEPTEMBER 5

Hi everyone! Following the launch of the Progression Update, we wanted to share more information on Rocket Pass!

Rocket Pass, our new time-limited progression system, is another important part of our Summer Roadmap and it's now only days away! Starting at 10 am PDT on September 5 (1pm EDT, 7pm CEST) Rocket Pass will be live on all platforms. We’ll be counting down the days in-game -- so keep an eye on the in-game blog and news ticker -- and you can get a full rundown on Rocket Pass and the Premium Upgrade here on the landing page. Thank you, and let us know what you think of Rocket Pass on Reddit and Twitter.

Fall Community Meet-Up in Santa Ana on October 13

We’re hosting a Rocket League Fall Community Meet-Up later this month, and YOU are invited!

Following our San Diego get-together last May and our 3rd Birthday Party this past July, the Fall Community Meet-Up will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Esports Arena in Santa Ana, CA from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Pacific Time).

At the event, we’ll be streaming the RLCS NA Regional Playoffs LIVE on the big screen so that you can come ready to support your favorite squad! We will also be running several tournaments throughout the day, including a 3v3 Standard tournament and a 3v3 Dropshot Rumble ‘Rumbleshot’ tournament! Plus, in addition to the PCs used for the tournaments, we will also have extra machines on-hand so you can play more casual matchups, too.

We haven’t forgotten about the swag, either, as the first 300 attendees will get their very own FREE Rocket League shirt! We’ll have food and drinks on hand, as well (while supplies last), and there will even be a paid, onsite bar for those of you who are 21 and older. Oh, and be sure to check out the Savor Santa Ana food festival that's happening in downtown Santa Ana at the same time as our event to enjoy plenty of great, nearby food.

Along with all the food and fun, Psyonix devs will be hanging out and playing games throughout the day, so come on down and try to top us in a friendly game of Snow Day.

DROP RATES IN ROCKET LEAGUE CRATES

Hello everyone! Ahead of some of the major changes coming to Rocket League later this summer -- like the introduction of Rocket Pass and our revamped progression system -- we wanted to take a moment to talk about drop rates in our Crates and Keys system. Highlighted below are those rates for all five Customization Item rarity levels found in Rocket League Crates (along with odds for Painted and Certified attributes):

  • Rare Item: 55%

  • Very Rare Item: 28%

  • Import Item: 12%

  • Exotic Item: 4%

  • Black Market Item: 1%

  • Chance of receiving Painted attribute: 25%

  • Chance of receiving Certified attribute: 25%

NOTE: These drop rates have been the same since our Crates and Keys system launched in September 2016. Every Crate and Crate Series in Rocket League are subject to these rates, whether it was the retired Champions Series Crates or the next Crate we’re releasing later this summer.

Our Crate system uses a three-step process. When you open a Crate with a Key or Decryptor, the system first determines what rarity level to choose from -- Rare, Very Rare, Import, Exotic or Black Market -- based on the percentages listed above. Next, the system determines which item within that rarity group is dropped. If you’re receiving an Import-level Customization Item from the Impact Crate, for example, each of the three Import items in the Impact Crate have an equal chance of dropping. Finally, the system determines if the item will drop with Painted and/or Certified attributes.

Heads up! Our next Crate will start dropping in Rocket League next week!

Starting October 8 at 10:00 AM PDT (1:00 PM EDT/ 7:00 PM CEST), the ‘Elevation’ Crate will start appearing as a drop after the completion of Online Matches. The new Crate will feature 18 Customization Items, including the new ‘Nimbus’ Battle-Car, ‘Solar Flare’ Goal Explosion, and more. You can check out Nimbus in the image below!

Customization Items in the Elevation Crate are subject to the same drop rates as our previous Crate releases, which can you find here.
